This type of assessment will go into greater depth into the process of assessing the impact upon heritage assets (i.e. Listed buildings) when your project proposes alterations to the historic fabric or the setting, prior to mitigation, in order to improve project design to allow your project to proceed. It can be submitted in support of Listed building consent, Conservation Area consent or Scheduled Monument consent.

The importance of each asset is judged on statutory and non-statutory designations, architectural
and historic significance and contribution to local character. The significance of impact on the assets’ setting can be determined by cross-referencing the importance of the asset with the magnitude of impact on it and its setting.
